We are in the last week of prep for our show, now it’s time to look at the best way to pack your outfits and jewelry!

For many of our ladies, this is their first time doing more than one costume in a show. So I thought it prudent to put the “talk” I gave on Monday in rehearsal down in a blog.

First of all pack out all the outfits, ensure that you have all the piece’s together. In this picture, I am wearing a top and a skirt and dance with two veils.

I keep my jewelry in a little baggy, with the outfit. Folding it all neatly, I put it in a clean plastic packet. This helps keep the glitter sharing to a minimum. I then pack the outfits together in a tog bag or box or washing basket, from first wear to last.

We put each outfit together in its own bag with the jewelry (if there is a need to change jewelry), although I don’t recommend doing jewelry changes.

Now that you have it all packed up, folded neatly and ready to go. Remember don’t do this the day of your show, but the day before. With all the stresses of show’s, it can be so very easy to overlook an element of your costume.

Now, with more than one outfit to put on during your show and space backstage is often in short supply. I created a video for Nova Productions, explaining the best way to set up your quick changes.
